My Definitive Work of Ambient Dub
It’s been a very busy month for me, so I’ve been almost completely offline, but I’m checking back in now with a quick update.
I’ve been at work on several creative projects – one of which has been wrapping up the details of my latest musical release, Northeast Pacific.
I’m pleased to announce that pre-orders are now live on Bandcamp, and the album will drop on streaming platforms in two weeks.
A bit about the album:
The grand total of my ambient dub production work for the past five years, Northeast Pacific is my definitive statement of dark ambient electronic music.
With the earliest tracks started in 2020, and the latest being completed at the end of 2024, this double-length album explores a range of dub and drone influenced sounds and techniques, all reflecting on the mercurial textures, colors, and emotions of the Pacific ocean in relationship with the shorelines of California, Oregon, and Washington.
Influences from dub techno, reggae riddims, analog kosmische synth-scapes, transmuted drone doom riffs, and snaking black metal tremolo guitars combine in a fog-wreathed meditation on the beauty and power of the marine.
The tracks are arranged as a diagnostic mytho-meteorological sequence of vignettes, beginning with the atmospheric conditions which produce coastal fog, moving through developments of calm weather, high seas, submarine currents and conditions, and ending with the inevitable melancholy of the ocean overtaking the land.
I hope you enjoy the music, and I sincerely thank you for your ongoing support.
